You decided to print the story knowing the information would effect the election.
The candidate loses the election. While you really believe that he is
having an affair you never get a solid source to step forward to verify
your story. A web site is just as responsible as a newspaper when a
false story is printed. Without a solid source of
information your story is found to be libelous because you showed "a
reckless disregard for the truth."
OR
Would you not run the story now with the realization that the election
may be decided before you find out the truth from a verifiable source?
