You publish the cartoon.
You cannot be successfully sued for libel because, even though the comic
strip focuses on a particular public figure and his actions, the statements made are
simply humorous. The Supreme Court ruled in Hustler Magazine vs. Falwell that in order to
sue for libel there must be proof that the statement was supposed to be taken
seriously. Given the nature of the cartoon, and the disclaimer, the public official would
have no case.
