The actor is furious when he reads the article. He phones you and sets the record straight. "I never sleep at home," was what the actor really said. Your magazine is sued for libel. A reporter should never attribute a quote to someone that may be inaccurate. As Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy put it: Quotation marks "indicate to the reader that the passage reproduces the speaker's words verbatim."
